Personal & Professional Background

My husband and I have been married since 1994 and we have two boys who are homeschooled in grades 8 & 10. 

We hired a doula for the birth of our second son in July 1998.  He was born one month early via un-medicated vaginal birth.  Having a doula and a midwife made the birth a wonderful experience I will never forget. 

It was three years later, when a friend invited me to attend her birth, that I considered becoming a Doula.  I was certified by DONA and PALS in 2002. 

I was enlisted in the United States Navy for six years and I understand the unique circumstances involving military families – including deployments, IA assignments and being stationed away from family and friends.
